Your Right to Cancel Your Order and Return Goods You have the right to cancel your order...

i) Before you receive your goods.
ii) If goods are lost in transit.
iii) Up to 7 Working-Days after receipt of your goods, for any reason (the so-called 'Cooling-Off Period').
iv) If received goods are 'Mis-described' (under the Trade Descriptions Act 1968).

You have the right to cancel your order and receive a full refund, including Post and Packaging, provided you contact us in writing (by letter or e-mail) within 7 Working-Days of receipt of your order if the goods arrive, or in other cases, within 30 calendar-days of receipt of your order by us.

The 'Effective Data of the Cancellation' is the date on which we receive written notice from you of the cancellation.

It may be helpful to you, but not obligatory, in case of any dispute, to keep some evidence that you have sent notification of your cancellation, such as Proof of Posting or a printed copy of an e-mail. We do not insist on this.
Refunds Your money will be returned to you as soon as possible following cancellation of your order, and certainly within 30 calendar-days of the cancellation.

Where goods have been purchased using a credit-card, debit-card or via Paypal, your refund will be made by crediting the value of your purchase back to the original credit-card, debit-card or Paypal account via the Paypal company.
Cost of Phone Calls Our telephone number is a standard-rate phone number, not a more expensive premium-rate number.
Validity of Prices Prices displayed on this website or sent to you remain valid provided your order reaches us within 7 working-days of  the quotation.
Duration of Contract The contract between buyer and seller begins when a valid order reaches us and ends 7 working days after receipt of goods by you (the end of the 'cooling-off period', where you can return goods without question) or when any refund has been made to you.
Substitution of Products The company will not supply any 'substitute products' if the product you originally ordered is out-of-stock. You will receive a refund of any payment that you have made instead.
Care of Goods For goods that are to be returned to us, you have a duty to retain possession of the goods and take reasonable care of them, until such time as you send them back to us.
Return of Goods For UK orders, you will be required to post the goods back to us.

For overseas orders, we will arrange collection.

Please contact us before returning any goods and follow the instructions that we send you for returning the goods. Please notify us by E-Mail or letter of the postal costs incurred in carrying out our instructions and we will refund them to you.

Please read the whole of the Skylark Books Terms and Conditions, especially the 'Refunds and Returns' section.
Variations to the Standard Terms and Conditions Any variations or additions to these Standard Terms and Conditions which are negotiated between the customer and Skylark Books, will be confirmed in writing, either via an E-Mail, letter or the delivery-paperwork.
Legislation Governing Online Selling Goods and services sold on the internet from the UK are covered by the UK Government's 'Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000', sometimes referred to on this website by the abbreviated name 'Distance Selling Regulations'.

As people who buy goods over the internet are not able to inspect the goods before buying them, as a face-to-face buyer would be able to do, the Distance Selling Regulations give you more rights to cancel orders, return goods, etc.

The full text of these regulations is available at :-
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

A more-readable guide, 'Home shopping: Distance Selling Regulations' (pdf 127 kb), can be downloaded from http://www.oft.gov.uk/Business/Legal/DSR/default.htm

The guide contains a list of other regulations which apply, including, but not limited to :-

Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2000
The Sale of Goods Act 1979
The Trade Descriptions Act 1968

Your Credit Card/Debit Card/Paypal Account details are only given to Paypal, not to us or the other companies that you buy goods from. A secure internet connection to their website ensures that all your details are kept safe.

Your E-Mail Address and other details are kept safe and secure and are never revealed to other companies. You will only receive e-mails from us relating to orders and enquiries and where you have opted to receive e-mails for marketing purposes (new books, etc.).
